• Chief Financial Officer of a Seattle-based start-up company structuring financial and contractual matters. That business continues to thrive.
• Licensed attorney in California in the San Francisco area addressing business practices and litigation.
• A named partner in a Denver-based law firm.
• Opened the Law Offices of John P. Schmitz, P.C. in 2019.

Barbara earned her paralegal certificate from the University of San Diego(USD) in 1994. She specializes in intellectual property, business law, and contracts. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Marymount College, Tarrytown, New York, and post-graduate credits from USD and Regis University. She has served in real estate in California and Colorado.

Lana Hart, Paralegal

After graduating from the University of the Pacific in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and business and earned a paralegal certificate in 1997. Specializing in commercial litigation and business law, Lana assists with legal writing, research, exhibit preparation, and daily tasks to manage ongoing cases. Lana has a diverse background ranging from journalism and grant writing for public relations, promotions and sales.
